Onboarding – what does it mean?
Definition
Onboarding: Onboarding is the process in which the knowledge base is filled, the tone and the handoff are set up, and the widget goes onto the website.
With assisted onboarding, the provider’s team does it after a call; with self-service onboarding, you do.
How it works
First the content is collected: the website, the product pages, the price list and the documents, and it is uploaded to the knowledge base. Then the tone and the handoff rule are set up.
Onboarding is carried out by the provider’s team. At the end the widget goes onto the website, and before go-live the answers are checked with ten test questions.
An example at a company
After a short call, the team uploads the website and the documents, then checks the answers with ten test questions. The test questions are the kind that customers also ask.
If an answer is not right, the team adjusts it until every test question gets a correct answer. After that, go-live can start.
What this means for business leaders
Your part is access: allow editing of the website, or have your web developer place the code snippet. Ask the provider what counts as finished, and who does the upload. If this step is skipped, the assistant starts with incomplete knowledge, and customer questions remain unanswered.
How we do it
Our team carries out onboarding, and before go-live we check the answers with ten test questions. Our commitment: live within two working days, if we have access to edit your website or your web developer places the code snippet.
Onboarding costs €200 excl. VAT; with a 6-month contract it is €100 excl. VAT and with a 12-month contract it is free, and you get an 8 or 15 percent discount on the monthly fee.
