Test question – what does it mean?
Definition
Test question: a test question is a pre-prepared customer question used before go-live to check whether the assistant answers correctly.
The onboarding team asks ten typical questions and corrects any wrong answer in the knowledge base.
How it works
Before go-live, the team carrying out the onboarding asks the kind of questions customers usually ask. The assistant answers every question from its knowledge base and also shows the source.
The team corrects a wrong answer in the knowledge base and then asks the question again. If there is still no content after the correction, the assistant does not make up an answer: it asks for contact details and hands the question off to a colleague.
An example from a company
A DIY store gets ten test questions: delivery, returns, stock, opening hours. Where there is no answer in the knowledge base, the assistant hands the question off to a colleague and does not guess.
The team adds the missing answer to the knowledge base, and the business owner only needs to review the list of questions and answers.
What this means for business owners
Do not let the assistant go live without test questions: this is your quality gate. Ask how many questions will be used, and what answer will be accepted as correct.
After a good test you can see where the assistant stands and what it does not know yet. Ask for the test results in writing.
How we do it
Our team carries out the onboarding, and before go-live we check the assistant with ten test questions, so errors come to light before the live launch. The weekly summary shows what was asked; an unanswered question can be taught with one click.
Live within two working days, if we have access to edit your website or your web developer places the code snippet.
