Knowledge base upload – what does it mean?
Definition
Knowledge base upload: knowledge base upload is the reading in of the website, documents and product data for the assistant.
The assistant reads in the specified pages and files (PDF, Word, spreadsheet) and splits them into searchable pieces.
How it works
The assistant answers from what your company provides: its website, product pages, price list and documents. When the content is read in, it is split into searchable pieces, and the source is shown next to the answer.
If a new page or file is created, it also has to be read in, otherwise the assistant does not know it. For Shoprenter, UNAS or WooCommerce online stores, products, prices and stock are updated from a sync, hourly or daily.
An example from a company
A spare parts online store uploads its installation guides as PDFs. A customer asks about installation, and the assistant answers from the guide, citing the source. If there is no content for the question, the assistant does not make up an answer: it asks for the customer’s contact details and hands the question off to a colleague.
What this means for business owners
The quality of the uploaded content determines the quality of the answers: an outdated price list gives outdated answers. Check that every important page and document is included in the specified sources. Ask the provider how updates are made, and what indicates that something has been left out.
How we do it
Our team carries out the onboarding, and before go-live we check the answers with ten test questions. Live within two working days, if we have access to edit your website or your web developer places the code snippet. An unanswered question can be taught with one click from the weekly summary.
