Multilingual answers – what does it mean?
Definition
Multilingual answers: multilingual answers mean that the assistant answers in the customer’s language, even if the knowledge base is in another language.
The language model formulates the answer in another language from the source text.
How it works
The assistant recognises the language in which it was addressed and formulates the answer in that language. The content comes from a single source, so it does not have to be uploaded separately for each language.
In this case, technical terms and prices need to be checked, because the quality of the translation can vary from language to language. Send test questions in every language you use before you let customers use it.
An example from a company
A Romanian customer asks in Romanian in the online store about delivery and collecting the parcel. The assistant works from the delivery terms written in Hungarian and answers in Romanian, citing the source.
The Hungarian text does not have to be translated first. The question also appears in the weekly summary.
What this means for business owners
If you have customers abroad, ask for a test in the language concerned before go-live. Ask for the test results in writing, so the actual quality can be seen.
Ask the provider how technical terms and prices are checked in a foreign language. If this is missing, the translation may be inaccurate and the customer receives incorrect information.
How we do it
Our assistant answers in the customer’s language, even if the knowledge base is in another language. Our team carries out the onboarding, and before go-live we check the answers with ten test questions. An unanswered question can be taught with one click from the weekly summary.
