Answered question – what does it mean?

Definition

Answered question: an answered question is the unit in which assistant usage is measured: a customer question that received a substantive answer.

Every substantive answer is one unit.

How it works

When a visitor asks a question, the assistant looks for the answer in the company’s knowledge base and gives what it finds, citing the source. A substantive answer is one measured unit; greetings and polite refusals are not counted.

The units make up the use of the monthly allowance, so consumption can be tracked. Unanswered questions appear in the weekly summary. One question means one unit, however many messages the conversation consists of.

An example from a company

In a conversation, the customer asks several questions about prices and then says thank you for the help. Every question receives a substantive answer, so each one uses one unit of the allowance; the thank-you is not counted.

What this means for business owners

It is worth clarifying what the provider considers a substantive answer. Ask whether thank-yous and refusals count towards the allowance, and what the weekly summary shows. If the unit is not clear, the monthly invoice and the actual usage can drift apart.

An allowance measured in questions is more transparent, because the number of messages or conversations can easily be misleading.

How we do it

The Chat AI Starter monthly fee is €14.90 / month excl. VAT, and its allowance is 500 answered questions per month; you will find the details on the assistant’s page.

We send an email at 75, 90 and 100 percent of the allowance, with no surprise invoices. Unanswered questions appear in the weekly summary and can be taught with one click.
